On Sunday, May 31, 2015, Dia celebrated its Dia:Beacon Spring Benefit and the opening of Robert Irwin’s Excursus: Homage to the Square3, a new installation of this iconic work conceived by the artist specifically for Dia:Beacon, a building whose public spaces, galleries, and celebrated use of natural light he also designed. This presentation marks the work’s first return to public view since its premiere over a decade ago at Dia:Chelsea, allowing visitors to experience the full breadth of his renowned explorations of the interconnectedness of art and architecture.
The Spring Benefit is a full day of art that provides crucial support for Dia:Beacon, is collection, exhibitions and commissions, performance programs, publications, and education programs. Dia is grateful to those who joined in celebration and support of these efforts.
Dia’s next Spring Benefit will take place in May 2016. For information about this or other events, please contact Dia at 212 293 5513 or firstname.lastname@example.org
