Dia:Beacon Spring Benefit
In May 2003, Dia Art Foundation opened Dia:Beacon on the banks of the Hudson River. Each gallery was designed to present highly ambitious works by a single artist. A decade later, Dia continues the presentation and scholarship of its collection at Dia:Beacon as well as initiating noteworthy exhibitions and commissions, performance programs, publications, and education programs.
The 2013 Spring Benefit will honor artist Robert Irwin for his master plan for Dia:Beacon’s conversion from a factory building. The Benefit will begin with a morning reception, followed by an anniversary toast and seated luncheon in the galleries. A children’s program will also be offered during lunch for our younger guests. Guests are invited to explore the galleries throughout the day, with highlights including a presentation of works by Alighiero e Boetti from Dia’s collection and a reading of On Kawara’s multi-volume work, One Million Years, both presented for the first time at Dia:Beacon.
