Residents of counties Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester are invited to Dia:Beacon on select Saturdays free of charge. Programs are held throughout the day and often include collection tours, workshops for children and families, and gallery talks, among other activities.

Exploring the Materiality of Sound and Space with the Beacon Music Factory
To celebrate their one-year anniversary, the Beacon Music Factory will host a children’s program where participants will use the galleries as launching points for creating sonic landscapes. Starting location: Learning Lab. (1.5 hrs)

Economy and Affect in the Long 1970s
On this tour, Dia:Guide Geoffrey Wildanger will explore the interrelationship of specific works from Dia's collection with the economic changes occurring in the late sixties and early seventies. (1 hr)

The Story of the Object: A Narrative Approach to Viewing Art
Led by Dia:Guide Deb Lucke, visitors of all ages will engage with art in the galleries through a narrative framework, considering different points of view and creating their own stories. (1 hr)

Gallery Talk on Louise Bourgeois, led by Julia Paoli
Julia Paoli, assistant curator at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto, will give a talk on Louise Bourgeois. Starting location: Bourgeois Gallery. (1 hr)

Title TK Music Performance
Title TK (Howie Chen, Cory Arcangel and Alan Licht) is a banter-prone band that has been described as ‘a cross between David Antin and Spinal Tap.’ Starting location: Flavin Gallery. (1 hr)
