Teresita Fernández was born in Miami in 1968. Fernández is the recipient of a 2005 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. Her site-specific work Fata Morgana was installed in Madison Square Park, New York, from June 2015 to January 2016. Other recent solo shows include As Above So Below at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, North Adams, in 2014 and Small American Fires at Anthony Meier Fine Arts, San Francisco, in 2016. She lives and works in New York.
