Jonathas De Andrade was born in Maceió, Brazil, in 1982. In his cross-disciplinary practice he uses installation, photography, and video to reconstruct and personify historical narratives. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo; New Museum, New York; and Kunsthalle Lissabon, Lisbon. He has participated in group exhibitions at Museum of Modern Art, New York; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. He lives in Recife, Brazil.
