In conjunction with the retrospective at Dia:Beacon, Carl Andre: Sculpture as Place, 1958–2010, a selection of Andre’s poems, collages, and works on paper that commemorates his longtime friendship and productive dialogue with Sol LeWitt are on view at the Dan Flavin Art Institute. Over 200 works and ephemera are shown in vitrines specifically designed by the artist and presented in two rotations. On view through October 19, 2014, the first rotation presents Andre’s correspondences with LeWitt. The second installment will focus on Andre’s poetry.
Carl Andre was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1935. He lives and works in New York City.
