This symposium brings together artists, curators, and scholars to discuss Mary Corse’s work and her innovative engagements with the medium of painting. Topics to be considered include: materials and luminosity, contingency and vision, and new perspectives on artistic practices of the 1960s and 1970s.

The program is co-organized by Dia Art Foundation and the Whitney Museum of American Art, and is planned in conjunction with the concurrent presentations of Corse’s work.
