Discussions in Contemporary Culture

Photo: Jack Murray

From 1987–95, Dia presented Discussions in Contemporary Culture at 548 West 22nd Street, New York City. Reinitiated in fall 2012, this series invites a distinguished and diverse group of artists, scholars, journalists, and historians to engage in a critical debate on a topic of present-day significance. The series creates a discussion as means to challenge and debate current conditions, preoccupations, and explorations occurring in contemporary artistic practice that parallel the general culture at large.
