Dia:Beacon is located adjacent to the Beacon train station, which is served by Metro-North Railroad trains from Grand Central Terminal and Poughkeepsie. Trains run hourly in either direction during museum operating hours. For train information, visit
www.mta.info or call 212.532.4900. For train travel from north of Poughkeepsie, take an Amtrak train to Poughkeepsie and transfer to a Metro-North train. Beacon is the second stop.

Take Upper Level of George Washington Bridge New Jersey bound. Take first right off Bridge to Palisades Parkway North. Take Palisades Parkway North to end. At rotary, take 6 East/202 across Bear Mountain Bridge. Take the first left onto Route 9D North. Continue 16.5 miles north on 9D into the city of Beacon. At the fourth traffic light in Beacon (just past Beacon City Hall), make a left turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.(Travel time: approximately 80 minutes.)
from New Jersey and points South (and by bus from New York City)
Take the Garden State Parkway North until it merges with the New York State Throughway 87/287. Take I-87 North to Exit 17, I-84. Follow local signs to I-84 East and continue on I-84 East across Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Immediately after the toll booths, take exit 11. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto Route 9D south. from Westchester and points Southeast
Take either 287 West until it merges with I-87 and continue to Exit 9, Route 9. Travel north on Route 9 to Fishkill. Take I-84 West two exits to Exit 11: Route 9D. Make a left turn onto Route 9D South. After traveling approximately one mile, make a right turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. The Dia:Beacon galleries are lit almost entirely by natural light, and museum hours vary seasonally.

Dia:Beacon is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays year-round, and Thursdays in January, February, and March.
Dia:Beacon will be closed on Sunday, May 19, 2013 for the Dia:Beacon Spring Benefit, and is also closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

The Bookshop carries over 6,000 titles, including Dia publications; artists’ monographs; exhibition catalogues; publications on architecture, design, and writing; children’s books; regional titles; and periodicals. The cafe, under new management by Homespun Foods from Main Street in Beacon, is now called Homespun Dia:Beacon. It features homemade soups, creative salads, and hearty sandwiches as well as a selection of handcrafted desserts.
Located adjacent to the Bookshop / admissions, Homespun Dia:Beacon is a welcoming and comfortable environment for visitors to engage in intimate conversation while enjoying light fare or a refreshing beverage. Box lunches are available for groups and must be ordered in advance by contacting café management at amandagarufi@homespunfoods.com.
Admission is not required for entry to Dia:Beacon bookshop and Homespun Dia:Beacon.
Dia members receive a 10% discount at Dia:Beacon bookshop and Homespun Dia:Beacon.

Please leave large bags/purses at home.
Visitors are required to check all backpacks, packages & open parcels, umbrellas, and bags/purses larger than 11 x 14 x 6 inches. Coatroom facilities are free of charge.

Children Must Be Supervised
Children under the age of 12 must be supervised and accompanied by an adult at all times.
Strollers
Strollers are permitted inside the museum. Backpack and framed baby back carriers are not permitted.

Dia:Beacon has accessible parking, galleries, and bathrooms, as well as access by elevator to all levels.
Wheelchairs are available for visitor use at Dia:Beacon. Reservations are not required.
Only working assistance and guide animals are permitted at Dia:Beacon. Pets are not allowed.

Photography, video, and the use of other recording devices are not permitted in the galleries.
